404+ Privacy Policy

404+ (“we”, “our”, or “the app”) is a Glyph Matrix controller for compatible Nothing phones. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your choices.

1. Information we collect

• Account information (optional): If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and profile information through Firebase Authentication.
• Purchase information: If you buy 404+ Pro, Google Play processes payment. We receive purchase status (whether you own the product), not your full payment card details.
• Advertising data: If you watch rewarded ads, Google AdMob may collect device identifiers, IP address, ad interaction data, and similar technical data to serve and measure ads. See Google’s Privacy Policy.
• Analytics: We use Firebase Analytics to understand app usage (e.g. screens, crashes, device type). See Firebase Privacy.
• Microphone / audio (optional): Some animations react to music. With your permission, the app reads audio levels on-device to drive visuals. Audio is not recorded, stored, or uploaded by us.
• Phone state (optional): With your permission, the app can detect incoming calls to switch automator animations. We do not access call audio or phone numbers.
• Notification access (optional): With your permission, the app can detect media playback (e.g. music apps) for the automator. We do not read message content or store notifications on our servers.
• On-device settings: Animation choices, automator config, theme, and trial progress are stored locally on your device (Android DataStore).

2. How we use information

• Provide and improve app features (Glyph Toy, animations, automator, purchases, ad trial).
• Authenticate your account and restore purchases.
• Show rewarded ads and measure ad performance (via Google).
• Understand usage and fix crashes (via Firebase).

3. What we do not do

• We do not sell your personal information.
• We do not upload microphone recordings.
• We do not store your notification text on our servers.

4. Third-party services

The app uses services that may process data under their own policies:

• Google Play Billing — Google Payments
• Google AdMob — AdMob & privacy
• Firebase (Auth, Analytics) — Firebase Privacy
• Google Sign-In — Google Privacy Policy

5. Data retention

Local app preferences remain on your device until you clear app data or uninstall. Account and analytics data retained by Google/Firebase is governed by their policies. Ad trial expiry and watch progress are stored locally on your device.

6. Children

404+ is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

7. Your choices

• Deny optional permissions (microphone, phone, notifications) — related features will not work.
• Sign out of Google in app Settings.
• Uninstall the app to remove local data.
• Reset your advertising ID in Android system settings.

8. Security

We use industry-standard services (Google Play, Firebase, AdMob) and keep sensitive operations on-device where possible. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.

9. International users

Data may be processed in countries where our service providers operate (including the United States). By using the app, you consent to this processing.

10. Changes

We may update this policy. The “Effective date” at the top will change when we do. Continued use of the app after changes means you accept the updated policy.
